The 1851 transcription on Ancestry is FUTTON not Fulton but the 4 year old does seem a possibility

Unfortunately - the images cannot be viewed on Ancestry and there is nothing on the IGI to confirm her parents

What about her marriage cert - will that have her parents names

Per IGI she married 6.2.1874 in Coldingham

I think "Hagard" could be brother Hugh who was 17 in 1851

Thank you both,

Not got round to certs. yet, the 1841/51 census shows Fulton got the books, and the Hugh is probably Haggard/Hoggan, there is a Haggen in IGI as John Foulton's father on marriage and the children seem to follow the naming patern, so it seems we are on the right track.

Amazing the mistakes that Ancestry seem to make, I should say that Hagard is a Merchant but Caviare!!
In regard to Catherine in 1861, I believe that she is the grandmother of Robert, 2nd wife of Hugh Aitchison.
