Hard to read document
« on: Wednesday 29 October 08 15:36 GMT (UK) »
I was wondering if anyone can help me to understand what this says. It is part of a death certificate and describes when and where the person died. I have been struggling to unravel this for months now. The person died in 1943 in Bathgate,Scotland. Any help or suggestions would be very grateful.

Wow - that's a very poor copy! Scotlandspeople are usually good about replacing illegible copies with better ones if you ask.

I think it says

May

tenth

10h 50m A.M.

Tippethill Hospital

Armadale. Usual

residence ________

_____ Armadale

Sorry, can't even guess at the blanks

Sorry - should have said: a warm welcome to Rootschat :)

Welcome to Rootschat, stetj  :)

I think the two blanks are
Lower
Ruthulle
but the Ruthulle looks rather like the word Anna has given as Tippethill and although Tippethill hospital still exists in Lanark, I can't find a Ruthulle, so maybe I'm wrong there, and the word is also Tippethill.

Could it be Ward 16 Tippethill Hospital?

If you look at maps of Armadale there is a street called Lower Bathville.
