   Just as a general thing whats the latest dates one has found on the IGI,
 
   do things stall about 1840ish  is it just the odd parish that comes forward,
 
  the deaths are very scarce, unless someone knows different of course....mick

in 1837, civil registration started. That's why the IGI peters out!

 I have just posted an extracted marriage record for Hemel Hempstead for ....

     November 1902.......... not bad eh ..... gives fathers names so could save the price of a cert....... :)

   Who's the lucky one then, I have heard that there are IGI records that come up to 1900 but I think thats in the minority.............mick

There are records on the IGI for Mapstone up to 1986. They were all taken from my web site by a member of the LDS without acknowledgement or even informing me.

    woops springs to mind I suppose thats where they are getting these later ancesters , it might be a good idea to put a general call out to watch for this sort of thing, once its out there, theres not a lot one can do about it apart from a e.mail to them to ask in future,....mick
