James QUARTLEY

Living in Glamorgan in 1891 I have a James Quartley ("Ancestry" has it as Quaretey), born Kings Brompton c1864) and his wife Louisa Maria, born Wiviliscombe, c1868. Their eldest child, Beatrice Ann was born in Wiviliscombe c1898.

I have failed miserably to find a Marriage record. Can anybody help?

Note: James had died by 1901 and Louisa had remarried a William Doige and was living in Bridgend, Glam.

On Free BMD there is a marriage for a James QUARTLEY where the district is queried:

Marriages Jun 1887
QUARTLEY    James        
(Tadcaster) 9c 560

Looking at the image, the correct district is Taunton, and a Louisa is listed with the same page reference:

Marriages Jun 1887 
MEDDICK    Louisa        
Taunton    5c 560

The 1881 census shows Louisa M MEDDICK aged 14, born Kings Brompton, as a servant in Upton. 

Although she marries as Louisa, her birth is registered as Louisa Maria:

Births Dec 1867   
MEDDICK    Louisa Maria        
Williton 5c 327
