Johnston(e)/Reid in Gladsmuir

Hello,

My gt-gt-grandparents John Johnstone (b abt 1779) and Janet Reid (b abt 1783) had their Marriage regularized in Gladsmuir in Dec. 1804. Along with other members of my extended family we have traced most of the descendants up to the present day but we seem to have hit the proverbial brick wall when it comes to ancestors of the pair or indeed siblings. They may or may not have originated from Gladsmuir. Any information would be much appreciated, I think we have now seen all the official records.
