Hawarden archives

Can anyone tell me if Hawarden archives have an index to Probate for 1923/1924?

I am actually trying to find out if Ellen Edwards who died in November 1923 (residing at Bethel Chapel House, Rhostryfan, Caerns) left a will. I have not been able to find her marriage to John Edwards so do not know her maiden name and as far as I am aware they had no children. I am hoping she might name brothers or sisters in her will as her husband predeceased her. There was no property involved so if a will was proved it should be quite near to the date of death.

Hi There....

I visited Hawarden last year , and I am certain that there were some copies of will held at the archives. The staff were extremley helpful , so I think it worthwhile contacting them.

Phone 01244 532364
Email   archives@flintshire.gov.uk

I think , because Hawarden was a Peculiar , the town could grant probate, but not really certain . I know that when I visited , there were some volunteers , who were indexing wills.

Good Luck
