Kew Look-Up Please
« on: Saturday 08 November 08 14:53 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I hope someone will very kindly help me - I have a medal card index for Sydney Wallace Dillon and I was wondering if anyone could look and see if there is anything on the back of it at Kew reference: WO 372/6.

I wondered then if it would be possible to know what details were including on the actual medal index records?

I appreciate that this is a big ask but I'm in Nottinghamshire with no hope of getting down anytime soon - I've checked on-line at ancestry but his records have not been uploaded yet and of course the details cannot be bought on-line from the PRO.

Very many thanks for any help given.

Hi Loulou

The National Archives didn't film the reverse of the cards and, as far as I am aware, no longer hold the original cards http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documentsonline/medals.asp (see the last paragraph at the bottom of the page)
