Please Help!? I have drawn a long blank with this one.
My GGG Grandfather Thomas Whitaker, appeared in Freshford Somerset as follows;

Charlotte lowe 24/8/1807 Freshford Witnesses Ann Whitaker, Thos. Ward & Thomas Whitaker.
3 Kids;
Elizabeth 1808 Charles 1810 Thomas 1812
Charlotte (wife) burial 1812
Marriage No.2
Hester Smart 25/12/1812
9 Kids;
Samuel 1813, George 1815, James 1817, William 1819, John 1821, Henry 1823, Isaac 1824, John 1826, Maria 1829.
Thomas Whitaker Death 1832 burial 22/7/1832. Stated age 44 (1787/8)
THATS the EASY bit.
Freshford have a gap in their records from 1763 - 1783 & prior to this they are at best 50% legible, so my burning question is: WHERE / WHEN was Thomas born?
WHO are THOMAS WHITAKER'S Parents??
A Mr Whitaker (No Initial) paid church rates for a seat in 1798 for Kites House, Park Corner, Freshford.
'My' Thomas was a literate tailor
Who were Thomas & Ann Whitaker the wedding witnesses?
I have searched neighbouring parish records in both Wiltshire & Somerset to no avail.
I have utilised the services of the NIMROD research.
Bath Records office.
Nobody can find any other Whit(t)aker BMDs in Freshford (other than this family) pre 1763 or post 1783.
Any ideas would be most welcome for my sanity!
