hi cousin Cathay :-*

It's very strange that I cannot find a marriage for John Spooner and Anna .... in 1861 she did have another son John A Spooner who was 1yr old.

I was thinking that maybe Alfred H Spooner was anna's son ...I cannot find a birth reg for him or Clara either  :-\

By 1881 Anna M is a widow and has Grace her daughter with her ... also William Chard is still a lodger with them.

I wonder if Lizzy will be able to confirm that Afred H Spooner was a warehouseman on the marriage cert of William H Spooner?

Do you think Lizzy will want us to follow her gr grandmother Annie Elizabeth laughton?

Dear Debs

Alfred H. Spooner was a Telegraphist

William Frederick Spender was a Blacksmith

and my great grandad William Henry Spooner was a Hairdresser.

Yes please can you follow up Annie Elizabeth Laughton.

Thanks once again Lizzy

Also my Esther Spender had 4 other daughters as well as my dad not sure if I mentioned them.

Don't no any dates of brith ect :(  but they were Mable, which I see  Ann, Winnie, Violet, and the brother which you found died young.

Also somewhere along the line some were killed in action and some died young.  When my mum comes up in a few weeks I will ask her.

Hi Lizzy

Do you know if Ann, Violet and Winnie were younger than Mabel ?

also would it be the Spooner's who died in action?

Hi Cathay :)

I have looked on CWGC for Spooners and Spenders ...can't spot any likely candidates  :-\

Hopefully Lizzy's mum can come up with someone specific. I will work on the Laughtons soon ...busy here at the moment ...housework never seems to end !!!!!!  ::) :(
