although the dates are within the period looking at the marriage record which is very difficult to read looks like Fathers name starts with E could be Evander or Ewan

mother is possibly M could be Margaret ? cant make out.......I know due to copyright etc cant put marriage record on here, but do you know if I can put that tiny bit with the names on it to see if anyone else has any suggestions as to what it might read?

I don't want to get your hope up but freebmd only has one marriage showing Edward Jones and Margaret Lewis on the same page.  Edward could have married Ann Reed

Thanks again Carol your help is greatly appreciated......I'm unsure as to wither Margarets name is not something longer than Lewis........I make it out to be Margaret Jones..m.s. ? and to me it looks tho' has more letters than Lewis but still unsure as to what it is.........but I'll certainly put your suggestion above as a possible......

Why don't you contact SP re the illegibility of the cert at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/content/contactus/form.aspx?issue=24

They will e-mail back an enhanced image of the cert which can be a big difference fairly promptly

Looking at the section you have posted, looks like Margaret may have remarried, Margaret XXXXX, previously Margaret Jones, maiden surname XXXXX. Hopefully the enhanced image will clarify!

Thanks Monica....great minds etc ...etc...lol... just done that however not holding out much luck have done this twice already in the past with different records of my own family but.....never got it just an apology and would try to re scan...but nothing ever came unfortunately......but perhaps this time?

Oh that's a first  SP are normally exceptionally good at this. As you can imagine, it's a common problem. They do send out a standard acknowledgment but that's normally quickly followed up by the enhanced image. I would e-mail again if you don't receive it.
