Looks like Royal Artillery badge

It is mate, as OR pointed out!! ;)

Hi Carol Going by the shape and form of his cap badge I would say that he was a member of the Royal Artillery, possibly a driver going by the spurs that he would have been wearing at the time that this photograph was taken, as you can may out the strap of the spurs at the top of the laces on his boots

Which is why a smiley was inserted by myself. :-[

This is a friendly site where all attempt to help each other...We do not normally have such replies as above...as they can be misconstrued as other than the nice reply I'm sure you meant

 ;) :)
One more charge and then be dumb,

Please stop squabbling on my posting.

It was a lovely picture of my grandad which Old Rowley very kindly came up with the answer to soon after I posted it.

NDRFT ,did you actually read the past replies,in which case you would not have needed to reply at all  ::) Especially not to say the same as had already been written?

Maybe it's my fault for not marking the thread completed, but as it's only been here a week I thought others may have extra info for me.

Carol

Yes I did read the replies, I was just trying to help. Clearly I perhaps ought not have done so. I am always asking for help of people on here and if only to add confirmation I was trying offer some help back  to some one - sorry!
I am not squabbling with any one either.
I am some what disappointed with all these responses to some thing I thought I was just trying to help with.
Good bye
