George Tyrrell c1830 Eastbourne
« on: Wednesday 12 November 08 18:08 GMT (UK) »
I'm trying to find George Walter Tyrrell bc1830 in Eastbourne who married Mercy Waymark 4th qtr 1887 at Eastbourne(her 2nd marriage-not sure about him). She appears on 1891 census as married living with grandchild but George isn'tn there. I can't find either of them on the 1901 nor any death records.
There seems to be another Geo. W. Tyrrell lurking in the records who only confuses me further!
Fresh eyes would be helpful.

No, Tati thats not him-Mercy was previously married to Henry Sayers who died in 1881. That one is the confusing one!

I can't see another one at all  ???

I'm not sure how Mercy's previous marriage rules the 1881 census for George out? ???

Hi Tati,
She didn't marry until 4th qtr 1887 to Geo Tyrrell so the latter should appear on the 1891/1901 census with Mercy?

Well, you said earlier that you've found Mercy without him in 1891!

Hi Tati,
Perhaps you're right about George-do you think he was living a double life-maybe he and Mercy fell out early in their marriage and they went their separate ways?
Did you come across Mercy in the 1891/1901 census?
