Wot No Medal Card?
« on: Friday 14 November 08 10:50 GMT (UK) »
I have my great grandfathers service record, which is included in the Ancestry pension records section, however I can’t find a medal card for him, he signed up on 15th December 1915 but was not mobilized until 19th September 1916 he then served at home for five months until he was dispatched to Rouen in France where he served for two years as a lorry driver. He was discharged on 18th February 1919 with a 40% disability pension.

His name was George Adcock No. DM2/223887, any ideas?

Thanks Ady,

I thought the medal cards on ancestry was a complete collection.

Just my luck, that the one I want is awaiting scanning,
Do you happen to now if the service records uploaded from A-N are complete I cant find the  following and think they are in the burnt records, is there a way to prove that?

With Ancestry it can be hard to work out as some of the transcriptions are REALLY bad
Has someone told you the records exist? A-N are now on have you looked in the military pensions records too....I know of lads who were awarded pensions but arent in there!!

Guess its just about been lucky!
