« on: Friday 04 February 05 15:57 GMT (UK) »
Looking for any info on

Peter GIBBONS (b 1830, Mayo, IRL)
Emily GIBBONS (b 1831, Mayo, IRL)

who left for Liverpool c. 1858 with son

John (Joseph) GIBBONS (b. 1857, Mayo, IRL)

they subsequently had martin, mary ann, peter & thomas (all b. Liverpool 1859-1872).

Emily lived past 1901, Peter snr died 1881-1891.

Interested in what happened to any of the children & anything going backwards from Peter & Emily!

Hi Oleg

Sorry we haven't been able to help you so far on this one.

Have you made any progress,  or do you have any further details that could help someone to find what you are looking for?

Look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes

Just a thought if you are looking for descendants of the children, the local newspaper the Liverpool Echo has a messageboard online which people often check, you might have some luck if you post a message on there

Thanks for the interest - i've a little bit more info gleaned from what is suspect is the families return on the 1861 Census.

The years of birth are a bit wonky compared to 1871-1901 and there is a bit of a glaring omission - but i think this is them (RG9/2660 p35 & 36 for those interested in looking!)

Peter (1836) & Emily (1835) with children Catherine (b. Ire 1856) & Martin (b. Liv 1859)
Michael (1813) & Margaret (1826) with son Thomas (1859)
Patrick (1831)
William (1837)

The glaring omission is (of course) no John Joseph Gibbons - but Martin is there in 1871 and the years make sense. Maybe John came over with other relatives after 1861 ... or maybe he's another census oversight!

There are so many Gibbons's of Irish extraction, with repeated Christian names, that i've really put this on the back burner until i can spend some time in the records ...
