Hello Barum

I wonder if these people could be siblings of William and Peter's. ???
1841 census, Llandyrnog, Denbighshire, H0107, Piece 1404; Book 7.
Samuel Fox, 25 , Publican, Not born in county. ( Residence Golden Lion )
Harriet   "   , 30 ,                     do
Richard  "   , 20 , Grocer   ,      do
John      "   , 35 , Butcher ,       do
Charles "   , 25 , Stone mason , do

It looks like Samuel married Jane Davies, from Llangynhafal Denbighshire
in 1845.

On the 1851 census, it says Samuel was born in Ysceifiog Flintshire.
From 1851 to 1881, Samuel and Jane are at the Golden Lion.
1891 and 1901, Jane is a widow.

Maybe Paul can check out if these are in fact siblings of William. I have not
followed any of the people yet in later census.

Bob

Jones- Llangynhafal, Llandyrnog
Davies- Denbigh
Parry- Llanrhaiadr
Roberts- Llanrhaiadr

Hello Bob,

There seems to be so many of them that i wonder are they cousins of william except for the reocurring name of Samuel, William had a son Samuel. If the Samuel born circa 1776 that Tati came up with was Williams father, then the tradition of naming after the father fits. In which case Samuel the publican that you have found would in the same tradition be Williams Brother.
That makes 8 children not of course unusual then, it also fits better with the 1776 Samuels age in that he would be aged 30 at the time of the first born (John your Butcher) rather than 41 years of age if William was the first.

Only other question is who was the first Publican? Perhaps the Jane Tati found at the fox inn in 1851 is not the same Jane as Williams Mother Jane, this would also explain the 4 years difference in the various accounts of Jane!

I think I will go and sit in a darkened room and try and get my head around it, when i come back I will have to find out where you knowledgeable  folk find all this information.
Thanks and Regards,
