Possible Ottawa Death
« on: Tuesday 18 November 08 14:12 GMT (UK) »
I understand births in Ontario are not accessible after 1911. Is that correct?

I have a Thomas Elliot Muir (born Scotland 1901) married Louise Devries Carleton Co Ottawa 14 May 1925. How do I find births or deaths for this couple?
I have drawn a blank at all the online resources I have accessed.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks

I found a reference to the marraige in Roots Web Ontario Vital Statistics Project.  Ontario Marriage Registrations. Is this where you got the marraige date and place?

Yes Peter it is.
Until I spotted that I hadn't even realised he'd emigrated to Canada!

Canadian birth and death registration records are not very easily obtained and are restricted due to privacy laws. I am not sure of the length of time. I believe there is a thread about it.

I searched all my usual sites but could not find any additonal info. It is possible they moved on to the USA or another province. The Bank Note co where Louise had a job in 1925 still exists. Hurdman Bridge is now a well known bus transit station.

Thanks again, Peter, for those bits of information.
You could well be right about them having moved elsewhere.
I was hoping to find a death which might give more clues.

Anyway many thanks for your interest.
