Aldershot? Liverpool Scottish? Kings (Liverpool Regiment)?

I know I am a bit late Ruskie 

I have a few questions spurred on by searching Anc**try's "Soldiers Who Died In The Great War".

In the list I found a soldier who was "killed in action" and the "theatre of war" is Aldershot!

Apparently all the new records on Anc********** that are being up-loaded
(the above being some) say Aldershot as t.o.w.

Someone has noted it also elsewhere. 

They will be quite a few people wondering why their folk are noted as having died
there instead of France etc.

Well thank you everyone (except Ken) 

That is SO confusing Ken! If I sit here for a week I will not get my head around it. However I did understand your last couple of paragraphs and it's all a little clearer as a result, especially datewise so thank you. I did see the battalions listed as 1/7th etc and had no idea what it all meant.

Thanks for the Aldershot explanation - how peculiar to put these records online if they are so horribly wrong!

I love the photo Annie - I think I have seen it before somewhere  . The boys look lovely. I read that those skirts were a bl**dy nuisance, but they look fabulous. However the outstanding sporran isn't shown to full effect. The one on my chap is a whopper!

If I have the right chap, he was born in 1899 (give or take), and I thought he may have been too young to be the one who died in 1917, mainly because he looks a little older than that in the photo. The Liverpool Scottish people have ID'd him as being 10th battalion and said the LS did train on the Isle of Man.

The photo belongs to a relative of my OH. I borrowed and scanned it some time ago.

A couple of weeks ago my PC died - most of the stuff on the hard drive was saved but I'm not sure about the photo, or where it is now. Some of the old files are in places that they shouldn't be. However I'll see if I can find it, or ask the technically minded family members to find it.
