Re Absentee Voters List Birmingham thread.

Tinav very kindly found the info regarding George Wigley but I do not know what CDE stands for.

Any suggestions please?

Quite probably it is "Cadre" battalion.

When large units are reduced to smaller numbers, such as at time of demob they were called cadres.  Or at times when a unit is forming the initial grouping was called a cadre.

It is used today to denote a training course
One more charge and then be dumb,
