Hi I would like to thank all of you who have posted information on my  ancestors yes there were a lot of children. I have been finding the same on my other English ancestors the Powells from Poppleton my own grandmother seemingly had 13 but not all survived I wonder how they would have coped in this day and age.

The only possible I can find for Albert in 1891 is
RG12 4072 103 42
a 15 yr old Albert Barker, bn Barnsley, employed as a Lorry driver in a coal mine, lodging with an Ezra and Nancy Green in Merrington Durham.

I dont know the area to know whether Bugsthorpe was near Barnsley.

As you already have, Smith and Albert are lodging with the Morrells at RG13 4441 146 33

It does look very much as if Mrs Morell could be their ssiter - she is Elizabeth A, age 32, born Appleton

I'll look for a marriage (eldest Morrell child is 9)

added later - no joy with that at all. Cant find her in 1891 as Barker or Morrell either.

Hi Liz Bugthorpe is near Stamford Bridge and the reg. district is Malton.
Linda Barker/Henry Powell were my grandparents my mother was one of their  13 children but by that time they had moved to Brierly Lodge farm were my grandfather Powell was a farm labourer that comes under Grimethorpe which is near Barnsley and eventually they moved to Middleton Leeds area I was a baby when he died what is interesting me is how did they meet as one set of Grandparents from Pocklington and the Powells  from Popplewell York and the Powell were all in the Farming Business
