Hi Irret

Arriving in NY from Liverpool on 16 October 1871, on board "City of Baltimore", travelling by steerage is:

Emily Pettitt, spinster, from England, destination US.
Age is given as 16 years and 4 months.

No other information.

Hope this is her!!

Hi Valerie,
That was quick :D
Certainly looks like her  ;) Do you think she was travelling on her own?
Any chance she could be on 1880 census?
Terri

Yes, she was on her own...at least no other Pettitts with her.
Thought of 1880 census...9 years later.  She would most likely have married by then, but can take a look anyway.
Or someone else can jump in, have to get to work for a few hours.

Regards
Valerie :D

I have Thomas in England in 1871 census so the 1874 immigration fits but not a 1863 one.
In 1874 he would have been 14 I wonder who he travelled with? :-\
