Hi Sandy,

Long time, no speak!!

Checked the Commonwealth War Graves site...his name is listed in the same bay as my Ephraim Warner!
Aged 19, son of Rebecca Jordan of 16 Agnes Road, Primrose Hill, Northampton, and the late F G Jordan.

Morning Phil and Emma.

Thank you both for the information.

Phil as you know sometimes Anc******** has another army number
for a person and therefore that extra information is great thank you.

Although he is listed as War Grave his headstone is not, it is a family one
and I nearly missed it when I was doing the cemetery last year.

Emma nice as always to "speak to you".

Thanks again both of you.

Sandy

I'm a little confused here.  If he's named on the Arras Memorial then that means that his remains were either never found or are in an unknown grave in France.  That would mean that the family headstone you saw commemorates him only and he is not buried there.  Quite apart from that the CWGC record has the spelling JORDAN.  That may mean that the spelling on the memorial is also wrong. If that is indeed the case then the CWGC will amend the memorial and record subject to you producing the appropriate evidence.

Hi Imber

No need to be confussed.

My mistake I meant it was a commemoration of his death
on his parents grave. Hence why I nearly missed it.

When I asked about his brother I did spell it correctly on next post.

Now amended title.

Thanks.

In which case SDGW has the transcription error.
I just checked and I didn't spell it wrong.  ;D

Phil

Edit: Or have I confused myself? Is one a JORDON and the other a JORDAN?
