1841 - 1871: ALDRICH family of DISS

LOL, o yes, naturally I'm curious about the earlier years, but didn't provide what I know already in message.

WILLIAM ALDRICH married MARY ANN FOURNISS at Lambeth in 1842

eldest son WILLIAM HENRY & daughter SARAH MARY ANN were born at Southwark in 1843 & 1845
second son FREDERICK was born at Lambeth in 1851

So in 1841 & 1851 they'll have been based in South London, Surrey somewhere.

As you point out, by 1861 they had re-located back to Diss (in close proximity to Palgrave).

ah, so all my MIDDX searching was mis-directed, as Lambeth etc is south of the Thames and would be SURREY at that time. The 1871 didnt help by saying Londo, Middx of course ...


so should I try again with these new facts ?

I'd be grateful if you could locate 1841 & 1851 references Newf. Thank you.

Or any early references to other Palgrave, Diss or Roydon ALDRICHs as I'm attempting to 'jigsaw' an number of later references I have for them into an extended family tree.

Hi there

There was an Aldrich family at Diss Road, Palgrave in 1841.
William, born in county, ag lab, aged 55
Hannah, not born in county, aged 60
Eden, aged 30, born in county.

The ages were often rounded up in the 1841 census.
