COMPLETED "Ball Green" Middlebie
« on: Monday 24 November 08 07:04 GMT (UK) »
In 1805 my 4x GGrand parents had a son baptized at Ball Green, Middlebie, also in 1807 & 1808 are noted on baptisms as residing at Ball Green.
Does anyone know where this might have been, I have searched the internet to no avail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Cheers
Peaches

Hi Peaches
I did a quick google search for ball green + middlebie and it appears it/was in Dumfries

Found a Well Green on the map below:-
If you enlarge then scroll down under the word "Dumfires" you'll see a Cherry Town then under that a Well Green.

Hope this has been of some help

Middlebie is a small village to the east of Ecclefechan in Dumfriesshire. I live about 20 miles from there. I can't promise anything but if I see a local postman I will ask if he knows of somewhere called "Ball Green" and get back.
