Hello

I think the service record you're referring to is that of L Jackson 41791 RGA?

If so the records shows that he fined (forfeited) 8 days pay in early 1915 under Section 46 (2) (a) of the Army Act. (Powers of the CO to punish offenders) - probably failed to parade/went astray for a few hours.

In Sept 1916 he was sentenced to 28 days detention reduced to 24 for 'absence' and was fined 15 days pay.

May 1917 - 14 days Field Punishment No 2 'whilst on active service leaving parade without permission about 12 midnight and remaining absent until found in camp about 5.15 am.'

He is again fined 9 days pay in May 1918 for 14 days absence.

Hope this helps.

David
