Edmund Murphy - Kilkenny

I am trying to find out more about an Edmund Murphy.  b 1836 Thomastown Kilkenny. 
The information I have found so far (which I think is the same person) is that Edmund Murphy had a child in 1863 (John Murphy) with a Mary Potter in St. Marys Parish Kilkenny.  It appears that three years later in 1866 he had a child (Michael Murphy) with Catherine Woods of Callan in  Kilkenny.  It appears that Catherine Woods subsequently married a William Kinsella in 1867 but I am drawing a blank on my Mr. Edmund Murphy and if he eventually married and had more children or not. 
I am just wondering if anybody has come across any of these details in their searches that may ring a bell and can help me progress my search further.  At the moment I appear to have two siblings with the same father and different mothers and I'm wondering if there are more.  Any help would be much appreciated.  Thank you.
