Thanks to everyone who replied to my rather vague enquiry about Streeters in Brenchley Kent.  I am looking for census informaton 1851 and 1841 for my great-grandfather, George Streeter.  I have found him on the 1861 census, already living in Brenchley but not married.  He married Sarah Pratt of Westwell, Kent possibly that year.

If anyone has informaton I would be most grateful. :) :)

A possibility?

1841 HO107; Piece 479; Book: 19;  Folio: 15; Page: 4

Warehorne Kent

George Streeter 35 yrs Blacksmith
Elizabeth 35 yrs
Eliza 15 yrs
Mary 11 yrs
Ellen 9 yrs
George 7 yrs
Jane 5 yrs
Harriott 2 yrs
Frances 1 yr

all born in county

(only likely one anyway)

A marriage certifgicate would give you his father's details.

Hello,

I have been browsing on here for place names and surname links and have stumbled across this thread.  I know it was a while ago, but I thought you may still be doing research and thus be interested.

I have a link to the Streeter family in Kent.  My Great grandmother was Lillie Streeter (b 1874).  She lived in Tunbridge Wells.  Her father was John Streeter (b 1845) and his father, Joseph Streeter (b 1823).  I do have details of all the siblings in each generation, but wasn't going to post the whole lot in case there was no chance of there being a link.

If any of this rings bells or you think more info might lead to a link, please do get in touch.

Oh well, never mind.  It was worth a shot.

I do find the 'scattergun' approach occasionally comes up with something though!

Thanks  ;D
