Hi,

I worked in the chemical industry in Widnes from 1976 onwards. I remember a small, very rundown pub called the Stanley Arms, situated on what had then become demolition waste ground, at the top of Lugsdale Road. Some years later one of the customers was murdered when someone walked into the pub and opened-fire with a shotgun. It closed down after that and never reopened. It was later demolished. I will let you know if I find anything in the way of pictures.

Hope this helps,

Tony.
