Allen family

I am trying to research my paternal family.  My Father was called Frank Allen, however one document we have has him as Frank Allen Cope.  He was born in 1907  to a Bessie and John Cope.  He was brought up by his Grandfather Allen, Grandfather Allen also had other children,  at a farm in Crookham Common, Newbury.  His parents were believed to have been staff at Shaw House Stables.  Frank was in the Wiltshire Regiment during WW2.  Frank married Annie Pearce and lived in Abingdon, where they had one child, a daughter, me.  Unfortunately both Frank and Annie have now passed away.  If anyone has any information regarding this family, however small the details, I would love to hear from them.

Whic document do you have with the name Frank Allen Cope ?  If his father was John Cope, would that not be his correct surname ?

I can't see a registration in Newbury in 1907 for a Frank Allen.

However, there appear to be two for a Frank Allen Cope:

We are uncertain as to whether his surname should have been Cope as Bessie may not have been married at the time   The two entries for Frank Allen Cope do have his correct birthdate but I have no idea as to why he would have been registered twice.  His birth certificate has him as Frank Allen  but  Fathers name as John Cope. 

The information regarding Frank and Annies marriage is the correct detail for my mother and father.  I would be interested in more details regarding my family.  Please dont put yourself out though as I appreciate that we all have busy lives.

Do you have any means of adding present information to the information you are gathering for me.  The reason I ask is that Annie  (born Martha Annie Pearce)  sadly passed away on 18 October this year, It was very peaceful, in her sleep at Bonaer Nursing Home, Hayle Cornwall.

Well, I have to say that I can't find a Cope / Allen marriage for John and Bessie - so maybe you are correct Bessie wasn't married.  However,  if John is named on the birth certificate then Cope would be his registered name.

Who was the informant on Frank's  birth certificate ?
