Hi,

Sorry I can't help about the look up but If you go into YorkshireBMD you will see the marriage was at Sculcoates Register Offices not at St Mary's.

Hi

I notice the one that Gogogadgetlegs found was 1931 but the one you wanted was Jan/Mar 1930 & it is now on FreeBMD.

Happy New Year

Hi Gill,
Many thanks,
I did apply for it to the G.R.O giving the father of the bride's occupation as Police Officer. The operator suggests that I left that information out so the information was more general. This I agreed to,only to get an email saying they had done a search and found that the fathers details differed and charged me for the privelege!
There is a G.R.O.  birth entry for Mary H Hughes for Salford where she came from at exactly the right year.I t seems to much of a coincidence that there is also a marriage entry for Sculcoates where we know they got married  in 1930 for it not to be the right one.

Hi Dasher,

If I was you, I would contact the GRO, and explain what happened, they may well be understanding and refund you!

When I have used local registrars (Hull being one), and have given details, they have been extremely helpful and not charged, when the details do not match.

The entry on www.yorkshirebmd.org.uk could be St Mary's as it seems to be the Catholic Church's that are listed as Sculcoates Register Offices.  The certs I have acquired from this website that were listed as such have been for St Mary's and St Charle's weddings.

Happy New Year,

Hi Kath,
G.R.O. just didn't want to know. They charged £4 for the search.
