No idea what "special schedule" means here, but the regiment is simply the 10th Hussars.

What would you like to know about them?

Think this has to be broken down into 2

'special' as far as cavalry units were concerned was similar to what we know as the TA

'schedule' on the other hand is normally associated with government instructions regarding, in this case perhaps, conscription and exclusions.

Well I'm not sure where you got that from, but not true, sorry.

Perhaps, Debz, you can tell us the context that you got the "special schedule" from?

hello and thanks for your
replies . The special schedule etc was exactly as it was written on the census and later on on another census it stated for occ ' retired from special schedule'

Did all soldiers go with the regiment abroad ?

A Depot equivalent to about 10% of a cavalry regiment stayed in the UK to enlist and train recruits.

Hi everyone, sorry about delay, haven't been well  :(

Charles seem to moved with the regiment from Ipswich, Aldershot to Houslow. Does this give any indication to what he may have been doing in his regiment.

Is there a link for the 10th Hussars

Thanks
Debz  :)

He served with the regiment in the Crimea 1855-56, he's on the medal roll.

Can't make out his full number sadly.
