My 7 x gt grandparents Alexander Waddell and Margaret Drew were married at Slamannan on 4 Oct 1707.  I am guessing therefore that they were born circa 1685, possibly at Slamannan?

If anyone knows who Alexander and Margaret's parents were I would be grateful for this information.

It gets hard once you get back as far as that. I had a look on familysearch for the names of the children of Alexander and Janet. George seems to have been the first born. I couldn't find an Alexander born around then but there were 2 different sets of parents who had children born c1685 with the father's name as George: George Waddell and Janet Forrest; George Waddell and Margrat Murehead.

If the first born was George, they look strong possibles but there's also on SP a James Waddell and Marjory McKie having children, Slamannan at that time  :-\
