Marshall
« on: Saturday 06 December 08 21:14 GMT (UK) »
I have been looking at the family of John Marshall born in Alloa 1831 he married Christina Wilson in 1868. The eldest daughter Christina was born in 1866. On the wedding lines John is decribed as a Widower.Any help with a previous wife would be appreciated.

A John Marshall married a Jean McEwan 13.12.1850 in Alloa, Clackmanan.
In the 1851 Census they are living in Alloa Jean 19 and John 20 with Margaret Miller 51 and John Kirk - 5 Grandson.
In the 1861 Census Jane 27 bAlloa, John 30, Janet daughter 7 b Alloa.  So his first wife was Jean (Jane) McEwan who was born in Alloa.  They are now living in Beath, Fife.
By 1871 he is married to Christina.

That's great Grandma, you will see that in 1901 Marion is missing, she married John Fairgrieve in 1899 and their son Robert,my Uncle Bob, was born in 1901. It all fits nicely.

Christina Marshal, daughter, 15, Halbeath, Fifeshire
