1907 Aberlady  James Alexander but  no death showing 1902-1908 in East Lothian for a James Leishman b.c 1902 - one in Stirling and one in Lanarkshire

I wonder if the second one was  normally called Alexander?

Hi

currently checking my SP records and info from when I was at New Register House.
I have found death for James Alexander Leishman d1981 Ratho, parents as John Leishman/Marion Cockburn.

I think I have discovered a problem which happened when merging my tree.James Alexander Leishman has ended up in both families of John Leishman/Marion Cockburn and Robert Leishman/Mary Sinclair Lawrie.I will have to try to sort this out.

many thanks for the info on James b1902 parents as Robert Leishman/Mary Laurie/Sinclair.

It is starting to make sense now that I know James Leishman/Mary Ormiston have been misssing from my tree as I remember quite clearly their names being mentioned in family dicussions.James was my grans brother but I didnt realise I had the wrong James in this family.
I will never merge my tree again to much hassle I thought I had it all sorted ages ago, wonder how many more mistakes I have still to find.
thanks again
Fiona
