Hi, in 1891 Mary age 30 is in Arleston with husband John age 29 their children Arthur W. age 7 born Stockton on Tees (where the rest of her family had moved to) and Annie age 1 b Wellington. They are living with Johns parents Enoch age 64 and Emma 54, RG12 piece 2131 folio 135 page 2.

In 1901 they are still with Emma Corbett  RG13 piece 2563 folio 31 page 8.

I don't have Mary's birth cert but according to the census's she was born abt 1861 in Wellington parish, probably in Ketley/Ketley Sand her parents were William Challoner (various spellings  ::) ) and Elizabeth Mansell.

Look forward to hearing from you

Sadly I cannot make a connection despite having 4 Enoch Corbett's in my tree!! It makes you wonder though if there is surely a connection somewhere?? Perhaps I have to travel back a bit further to find the link......I will keep all your
details and let you know if I can establish any connections.
Kind regards
Alyson

Not to worry, there are a lot of Corbetts in that area so it was a long shot but just looking through the marriage certs that I have I've just found one for a John Archer marring an Emma Corbet daughter of William Corbet in Eyton in 1842.

I have looked on RC many times and have posted messages but never come across Shropshire chat.  If it's still up and running can I join please ?

I have paternal side - Wilkinson and Maddock/Maddocks/Maddox (not sure which spelling connections in Shrops.  My grf Harold Wilkinson was born at Ironbridge and his father, Ben, was licensee of 'The Cock Hotel'.  Ben married Margaret Maddock(?). I think Margaret had a brother who was a mayor in the area.
My paternal grandmother and her father, ?? Francis, was a poulterer who I think moved from Wolverhampton to Wellington.
