Brogden, Ollies, Pordage, Toronto, Canada
« on: Tuesday 09 December 08 11:49 GMT (UK) »
Does anyone know anything about the above people or their families?  My Grandfather, Ernest Gibson, died as a result of war wounds in 23 Oct 1918 in Toronto, Canada.

He had emigrated in 1912 and married Lilian May Withers in 1913. and these women must have been friends.  I also have contemporary photos of several families in Toronto and would like to contact descendants if at all possible.
Can you help?

Many thanks,

Sondra

These names are no so common. I did a Canada411 lookup and these results came back:

Many Brogden's though.

That should give you a start.

I hope you can help but I am trying to find Pordage's that emigrated to Canada. My G great grandfather was John Pordage 1822-1901 born in Faversham Kent.
I have been able to trace just a few Pordages from Faversham who emigrated to Canada.
I have been doing the Pordage Family Tree for about 10 years and have found them in India & Australia.
I hope you can help

If you follow the link in reply #2 there is some information on a Pordage family in Toronto.
To be fair, I think that starting your own posting on the Emigrants to Canada board would be a good idea, as your question goes beyond Toronto.... But please be more specific as to whom you are researching ie: the parents of those you search, and forenames if you know them... (no names of the living, please. )  J.J.
