Hi Paul,

Happy New Year  :D

Please see my reply 1 above

Quote
Charlotte ROWE was baptised 30 Nov 1832 parents William and Ann father (sexton)? of Churchtown

It is Sexton as sister Johanna's entry is nice and clear 10 Aug 1828 father Parish Sexton of Churchtown in this parish

The St Col Major entries from the IGI (Children of Philip and Ann) are only submitted entries. - The Submitter was probably interested in another of Philip and Ann's Children and did not include Thomas as he does not appear with the family in 1841 so they were unaware of him. There may well be other children who do not appear with the family in 1841.

I gave you Thomas. Please note there is nothing in the records to suggest he was born in 1823, only the baptismal date. I will need to check the fiche for the other St Col baptisms.

James was  baptised and buried in Kenwyn - James 12 Mar 1809 - 20 Oct 1809 Kenwyn and also Mary Ann 23 Feb 1811 Kenwyn

The West Briton Advertiser is Online for certain years. They are currently transcribing 1847. If you have events for those years you could try there.

The Cornish Studies Library at Redruth hold all the old newspapers for Cornwall. You would need to have dates to be able to find anything (if there are entries in the papers) For a complete list of holdings please see - They will not be able to help without dates. It would pay to contact them prior to your trip to see if bookings are necessary.

Also take a look at The Courtney Library

Hope you have a lovely and productive trip.

Cheers Kris  :)

Thanks for this - it has thrown up a few extra names I haven't heard before (Jane and Philip are new to me - did they both die quite quickly?) , plus explains the gap in years I had been wondering about.

Cheers,

Paul.

Also have you any idea where "Trewoolvas" is ? I can't find it on googlemaps which is unusual. Do you think it is a mis-spelling ?

Cheers,

Paul.

Hi Paul,

Try Trewolvas  ;) (entries clearly say Trewoolvas with the double o)

Phillip appears in the census. Jane is hard to pick as there are more than 1

Cheers Kris  :)

Paul

Have you found everything that you were looking for on Thomas Harris Family?   My Grandmother's Mother was Maria Harris, daughter of Thomas & Charlotte.  If you are still looking for something,  get back to me as I may be able to help.
