Where to from here?

Since to this enquiry I have received the will for William Newton who died in 1798.
The will is dated 1793 (5 years before his death) and only gives his children's names. I was really hoping for occupations for at least his sons  ;D so I could eliminate (or otherwise ) the son John as my rellie.
An interesting thing is that he willed a total of £4660 to his many children, £600 each to his daughters and only £20 each to his sons, but at the end of the will is a note to the effect that Personal Estate did not amount to over £1000. Yet at the time of writing the will he named a freehold property in Court Green and 2 leasehold properties in Charlotte Square to be sold and the money divided amongst his children. ?? Does this mean that the money and property disappeared in that 5 years or that his actual "cash in the bank" amounted to less than £1000?

Anyway the main reason for writing is if anyone can suggest any other way I can chase up my "dratted" John Newton (Linen draper) born about 1760 something. I've had various posts on here about him and people have been very helpful...but is there any way to definately say "yes" or "no" that's him or not???
He's driving me mad  >:(
