Glamorgan cemetary
« on: Thursday 11 December 08 12:58 GMT (UK) »
Hi all,
need advice if possible.
I know my Uncle is buried here, and have been a few times, I have contacted Town Hall and library and despite many emails am getting nothing back, as far as my grandfather is concerned, there is only his son and his neice, but over the years he has been told someone else is buried here and at 83 years old this concerns him somewhat. I wonder if anyone could help us, there is no headstone, as there wasnt any money at the time, i am trying to save up for him, but obviously cant put a headstone on it, without knowing all the details.
Robert Anthony Mann b. Dec 1948, d. Mar 1949. Neice surname Jones, buried sometime after this.
Is the town clerk the only people with the info. As i am in Birmingham, i cant get up to Neath at the moment.
I just dont know where else to turn for the info.
Many thanks for any help you can give me.

I don't know whether you have found the information but I wanted to find my Grandmother's grave in Swansea and West Glam. Archives told me the  exact spot in the cemetery and the names and dates of burials of all who were in the grave. I hadn't heard of some of them. I think there were six! There was no headstone just grass but we found the plot number.  So try Neath Port Talbot Council. They should have Glynneath details.

Many thanks for the reply, i do now know my aunts full name, dob and dod. Have emailed the town council on numerous occasions and also Chris Pavett, but have had no reply.
Very disapointing, have a feeling that i'm going to have to try and get there myself sometime this year to make sure the grave is still there, bit difficult living in Brum and having kids.

Thanks again

Hi Wendy :D

After a little investigation I think the chap you need to speak to is Edward Morgan, part of the Glynneath Town Council.  He is responsible for the cemetery in Glynneath, he apparently has set up a cemeteries project to include this one.  I'll pass on his contact details by PM,

Pip :)
