Iam interested to hear from descendents of William and Peggy Helferty. they had 2 sons William and Daniel and 1 daughter. Theie son William married Sarah McCool and had no children. Dan. married Susan Langan and had Dan, Annie, Margaret, James, Bessie Charles and Joe. Dan and his wife emigrated first to Southport England and then on to Colorado in 1881. Mary married John Boyce and her family consisted of 4 sons and 2 daughters viz. William, Dan, John, Charles Sarah and Rose All were born in Oldtown, Letterkenny.the latter family's details I got in 1901 census. Any information will be very welcome please. I think we may be double cousins. I noticed your posts regarding children of Daniel Cassidy and Susan Langan. They were my great, great great grandparents. Their daughter, Annie, married Joe Doherty, son of James and Mary Martin Doherty, of Drumrooskie, Donegal Town. Joe was a brother of Isabella Boyle and Susannah.

I have been doing extensive research on the Joe Doherty line and have a fairly complete PDF file of the Doherty/Cassidy/Langan family -- including Isabella's siblings James and John (both who immigrated to New Mexico).

Can you tell me how you are related? Do you have a tree for Isabella or Susannah? I have lost contact with all Irish cousins except a grandaughter of Lizzy (nee Doherty) Diver.

P.S. I am heading to the family ranch this week where my grandfather has just uncovered the marriage certificates for Annie and Joe.

I saw your answer to my enquiry in rootschat but I was searching on your behalf about the Letterkenny end of your family.

Eilis,

I wondered if this was you. I head to New Mexico tomorrow. Sorry I have not had a chance to scan/send pictures/trees but I have been crazy packing. My grandfather will be thrilled to learn new information.

Thank you for all your help.

Susan

Hi ursulaf,

Theres an old family story that my family are related to a family of Boyces in Letterkenny.
Could you tell me more about Mary Cassidy and John Boyce's family?
The Doran family were supposed to be cousins of a family called Boyce who ran a shop near a railway station.
Considering that your Boyce's ran a Pub in the 1911 Census we could possibly be related....
Hassan/Hasson - Derry, Ireland
Fleming - Derry
McCloskey
Gormley
Doherty - Donegal
McLaughlin
Brady
Doran - Derry/Donegal, Ireland
McGowan - Donegal

Hi - Just wonering if any of you could help me ?  I am looking for information on my ggrandmother Isabella Cassidy.  Married a John McLaughlin.  Don't have much information to go on other than John & Isabella had a son Daniel born approx 1885.  The story I was told - Isabella later died in childbirth and John remarried.  New wife - new stepson - Rafferty????
Does this ring any bells with anyone.   Would love to hear from you and get a start on the Irish side of my family.
Thanks for your time.
Caroline x
Hi,

I am interested in the McLaughlin family - Northern Ireland.

John and Bernard McLaughlin , Brothers Born approx 1830 ish.   Bernard came to Scotland, married and settled.  John married an Isabella Cassidy and had a son Daniel in 1884/5 - again no details.  I was told that Isabella remarried after John died - to a Rafferty and they had a son or step son.
The areas that I am interested in are Armagh, Antrim, Coleraine, Londonderry, Sligo.
Can anyone help?
Many thanks!!!
