How to use RootsChat: Where are the Help Pages ?

Please can I ask this here as I don't know where else to do so.
Why is the Profile page on a timer and it 'Times Out' and you lose all your text?
I was writing a new list of places and names in the box that appears below my posted messages. When I clicked the 'Change Profile' box the screen showed me a message saying the page had timed out. Why, for heavens' sake!?!
I am having to write it all by hand on a piece of paper and then type it in later. I am not best pleased, to put it mildly.!. I wonder if anyone else has had this problem.

Hi Bethgem

I wasn't aware of this particular issue before.  Sorry it has caused you problems.

A couple of suggestions: one is to use the Surname Interest Table (there's a link at the bottom of every page) then you don't need to put as many names in your profile.

The second is to type things out in either Notepad or Word or another editor and cut-and-paste it into the Rootschat form when you have it as you want.

Yes Arranroots, I will have to write it up somewhere and copy it to the box in the Edit Profile page.  Such a nuisance though, as I'd worked hard to get it right and it looked so good! Perhaps a 'save' feature ought to be available? Just a suggestion. Thanks for your reply,

Just one question. I may be having a senior moment but on the help pages it talks about an event calender but I cant find it on my headings

The Event Calendar was turned off when we moved to the new server, as it was too "resource hungry". 

We hope to re-install it when Trystan has finished optimising performance.

Saving is OK if I don't take ages composing! That's what I did you see, I took too long and the thing closed down without me knowing and when I clicked to add everything I'd typed it was lost! Oh hum, never mind, back to the drawing board! Thanks for you help. I won't have time for a bit to do it. Cheers for now.
