I've actually removed the completed element to this as I have a new piece of information that I'd like help with relating to Samuel.

I have discovered that Samuel and his wife Margaret celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 1982 meaning they were married in the Winnipeg area in 1932.

Is there anywhere/anyone that could try to find this marriage and subsequent details - I don't know much if anything about Margaret other than I believe she also came from Northern Ireland but they only met after immigration.

Do you have a more specific date for when they were married? Government records for marriages in 1932 are protected by privacy laws so your best bet would be a newspaper announcement regarding the marriage.

I'll do some newspaper lookups for the marriage/anniversary...as I am going to the Library anyway... :) J.J.

Just saw that you want details about her, but it probably won't have anything in the paper...but I'll look anyway...
The anniversary may have something, no harm checking...

Did you get an obit for Margaret as it may just mention some living rellies back in Ireland as well???

Whoo-Hooooo!
I had a good find for this one... First the marriage of sons  J.W. Hill, and R.J. Hill...mention of S.Hill Jr...
Then the 50th anniversary...LOTS of info in there for you. married names for the daughters, and more..and even mentions 3 sisters for Margaret but all had married names. 

 ;D Then, a BIRTH announcement for their daughter M. F...a couple of years after the marriage of Samuel Sr. & Margaret...with, low & behold...a NEE for her...ADAMSON!!!

so further searching found that her parents celebrated their 50th anniversary in the home of Samuel & Margaret, so nice icing on the information cake...


Even immigration dates for both are in there!
