Hi, Why not email the Local Studies Library nearest to Whittonstall and ask if they have transcriptions of what you're after or if they can suggest another way of coming at this.
I've always found Local Studies Libaraians to be most helpful.

If you look at the Church Records section of the GENUKI page for Whittonstall (http://www.genuki.bpears.org.uk/NBL/Whittonstall/ChurchRecords.html) you'll see that a microfiche of churchyard transcriptions is available for purchase from the Northumberland and Durham Family History Society and they appear in book form in Newcastle Local Studies Library.

Happy New Year!

Hi there
Have been doing some research on Fairley nr. Whittonstall . Have found many browns but not Luke. The main ones are
Ralph b.1767 mar.1800 Hannah Elsdon d.1851 and
Peter b.1771 mar.1803 Mary Elsdon d.1851 .
Plus there children.
Probably brothers and seemed to have spent most of there lives at Fairley.
Also have gone through Whitttonstall Chaplery records for BMD of Fairley inhabitants .
Have some pictures of Brown gravestones from Whittonstall but are later 19th Cen. ones.

hope this is of some help

hi,this fairley farm must have  been quite a size, the 1901 sensus had my grandfather b Fairleigh!!! have covered some ground since then, william and elizabeth are ralph and peters parents, this is the closest(if the luke buried in whittonstall is the one)d1807 aged 45 ie b 1762,but no baptism,he did not make the 1841 sensus,i have some fiche from ndfs coming,so lets hope. if you have the time, any thing  on the browns would be appreciated, nice to know some one else interested  in Faril,Farrrell or fiarhill, lovley country, like to visit one day.....thos
