In 1850, my g.g. grandfather, a deserter from the 7th Hussars, was arrested in Worcester by Sergeant of Police, Thomas Bateman. I have a copy of a letter from the War Office regarding a reward claimed by Sergeant Bateman, but would like to know if there is any way that I can obtain more information about this event. Any help appreciated.
