Good morning and thank you to tazzie, BG, suz and Sheila. Everything fits in just great and you have all helped to get me over that obstacle.
     BG perhaps you have noticed that this is tied to the BOWER family (Mansfield and Sutton )
    It was the same as popping into the store for milk and coming out with a basket full of goodies that I wasn't expecting.

            Just that I noticed the BOWER - Nottinghamshire on your research interests. I am doing some research on BOWER for a good friend.

John Dolphin married Ann Sheppard
Their daughter Ann Dolphin married William Cudworth
Their daughter Clara Cudworth married William Bower
Their son John Thomas Bower Married Florence Speed
Their son John Charles Bower was the father of my friend.

With the exception of Clara ( born in Sheffield ) all these came from the Sutton in Ashfield area.
Just thought it could be your Bowers

Not as yet bigjon, I haven't made any connections with Sutton, only Mansfield and Newark, but thanks for pointing out the Bower connection on this one, I'll bear it mind for future reference.
