Herts 1851 census look up request Charles Cannam

I am looking for census return on Charles Christopher Cannam born St Ives Hunts circa 1820.  Married to Mary ?ing in the Royston area of Herts in 1846.

I can't see them in Royston, and they're not on the index for Cambs .

Do you have anything more to go on? The 1851 is not indexed so it's a bit of a tall order. Were there any children born between 1846 and 1851?  Have you found them on any subsequent censuses?

I think the marriage may have been in the 4th quarter 1848 in Royston registration district - there's an entry for Charles Christopher Cannam on FreeBMD. The other party may have been Mary Ink*sole, although the page has not been completely transcribed.  But Royston district is too large for a blanket search of the census.

Difficult one this, I am tracing the tree of the first wife who died in St Ives Huntingdon Sarah Blake, married to Charles Christopher Cannam in Royston.

I have the BMD record nothing more but thanks for trying for me.
