It reminded me of my school, all girls and the same uniforms.
Its so nice when you get to work on a good scanned photos, then details like the ringlet stand out more, not to mention actually seeing the eyes.

Have now spoken with Maggie. Her Irfanview jpg 'save as' was set to 80% (i.e. 20% compression) so we've changed that  but the scanner seems to default to 200dpi if it's run from within Irfanview. Scanning with the scanner software seems to produce 600 dpi but highly compressed.  It's getting the two to marry that Maggie's now working on -  so I hope we might get an even better scan soon

Well, I can tell you all about the one on the front row 4th from the LHS 'cos that's my lovely Mum and her best friend and eventual bridesmaid is standing on her right, with their arms linked.  Mum probably also has a long ringlet, or maybe two - she had lovely thick brown hair.
