Hi Sue
I hope it's not those tin sheds! Maybe that where Ivor did his French polishing perhaps? Good of them to put the house no. on their bin, lol.
I've ordered all b,m,d certs for Gwladys and copy of the will
 Gareth.

Ivor may have had a good little polishing business going in the sheds ;D.
On a good Townsville summer day it would be about 120 degrees in there ::)

I am not sure what will be shown on the  death certificates you've ordered, but Ivor's death certificate may reveal a lot.

Australian certificates contain a wealth of information.
Search, purchase and download here if you wish.

It's been a pleasure to help.

Hi Sue
In conclusion, Belgian garden cemetery kindly sent me a photo of Ivor's grave which was really good of them.  I have found his wife Gwladys buried in Henryd, Conwy, Wales as anticipated; with her mother and sister so gained further dates there too.  I have been there and tidied it.  I've had fun tracing this but she actually lived it. :)

Also now had copy of her will ("a widow without issue") that indicates a brother I didn't know of (never ends)!  Had a copy of Ivor's death certificate (poor chap died enroute to Townsville hospital) but still waiting on the uk certificates at present...
Regards. Gareth.

Good that you have an almost complete picture now. ;D
You have clearly settled the question of children to the couple through the will and I expect Ivor's DC would also have confirmed it too.

Wonder if Gwladys' brother, of whom you had no knowledge,  came to Australia at  any time. ;D.

Perhaps the earlier visit by Ivor's parents was a "try out" for immigration.

Have you located them later in UK?

From what I'm seeing at the moment I think Ivor's parents family might well have stayed in Australia. The one name that may turn up something may be Mabel Jane Turner? They may be in Brisbane from the 1925 passenger list.

I've found Ivor's father's family, living at (and other Turner's) near 95 Princes Street, Barry in the uk 1901 census - his father (Albert)'s brother William Henry Turner and their father John Turner. Barnstaple and South Moulton, Devon are birthplaces of some.

There are too many John David Jones born Conway for me to home in on any one individual and the deaths don't help much either I fear. I can only assume John David to be born after 1911 although there are two circa 1917 with mothers maiden name Jones that may be worth a call to the registrars office. I can contact the crem. to see if he's passed through there and cross ref. some MI's in due course. From the will, John David Jones is in the Maes Derw maisonettes, Llandudno junction when Gwladys died 1973 so he died after then.
Regards Gareth.

I can see the death for Mabel Jane SCHLENKER (nee TURNER) 1978
Some electoral roll  entries.
There are some news items about them too.
No doubt you have the details of these.

Not seeing much else for the others of the family, apart from the Electoral Roll listing I gave previously for Elizabeth and Albert TURNER in 1926.

Thank you Sue,
It's certainly coming together now.

I've now found a will for Gwladys' mother Jane Jones who died 1966 so I've ordered that yesterday. I thought it odd that Jane wasn't buried with her husband John however Conway cemetery normally permit a max. of 3 per grave and I have to thus assume the father is buried with the two infants; but it's nice that Jane is buried with 2 of her daughters. Henryd cemetery is in a lovely small valley and the google earth site shows the cemetery right next to the road.

I don't know anything about Ivor's family at all so whatever comes is a great bonus, thank you.

I also apologise for hijacking the original Wyatt enquiry so maybe an enumerator may want to separate my Jones/Turner look ups?
Gareth.
