HI Debbie

Thanks for these, This is the family I am looking for:).

Can I be a bit pushy and ask if you can find anything on the parents of Rev Christopher Cookson (1824-1874). I know the names were Christopher and Ann.

Hi Michelle,  I think you will find the mothers name was Jane not Ann,  I found this in the Cambridge Alumni lists

From the Cambridge Alumni lists

Christopher. Cookson
ST JOHN'S
Entered 1809

Son of William (1772) late Fellow of St John's.
Born Jan 27th 1791, at Forncett, Norfolk.
School, Eton. Matric. Michs.
1809 Scholar .  In the Indian Army.
Of Nowers, Wellington, Somerset.
Married Jane, dau. of John Strother Ancrum, May 22, 1821.
(Their son Montague Hughes of Newbiggin Hall Westmorland, assumed the surname of Crackanthorpe.) Died Jan 1 1834.
Brother of George (1812).

Fosters men of the bar is another biographical, reference list for men who worked in the legal proffession - I don't know of an on-line copy of it though.

Will try and find father William now
