Hi

They are not the same streets.  Sir Thomas St is in the city centre.  Have you tried Multimap

Do you have a rough idea of the year?  I have the 1871 census on CD but the only Thomas St was in a different area of Liverpool

Liverpool PRO have a list of all demolished streets and in a lot of cases, photos were taken before demolition

Might be worthwhile giving them a ring

Hi Paul

Thomas Street, Garston, was off King Street. It is on the Speke and Garston Dock's plan of 1905 from Alan Godfrey Maps.

If you find King Street on Google Maps it was roughly where Thomas Close is now. The whole north side of King Street has been redeveloped. There was a road called Dale Street fanning out from the gas works with small rows of terraces linking it with King Street. Thomas Street had 10 houses on one side and 12 on the other.

Carole...Garston didn't join Liverpool until 1902 so it will not be on the Liverpool CDs.

Ken

Thanks for the information Ken, I thought it must have been demolished.
My Great Grandfather lived at number 12 according to the 1901 Cencus
Do you know what decade the area was cleared? or if there are any photos of the street?
Thanks Paul
