Hi, Frank what a coincidence,i lived in 12 Thomas street from 1956/61 until i was 14,i have many memories ,i was only telling my grandkids the other day how lucky they are to be living in a nice warm house without the rustle of thousand of cockroaches, but i wouldn't change my childhood for theirs they don't seem to play out anymore, what a waste,i now live in North Wales but still go back home now and then to sit on the shore and reflect John

Hi John,
Great to hear from you , Do you have any photo's of the house or street you wouldn't mind sharing with me?
My Great Grandfather John Worthington lived there before he was married in 1904 then he moved to 18 Byron Street, Iam not sure if his mother continued to live at 12 Thomas Street.
Were you the last person to live there before the area was demolished?

Thanks Paul

Hi Paul,I think we were the last to live at No 12, my dad had bought the house for £500 but we just walked away as the property was uninhabitabal i think the street lay empty until demolished,we went to live with my nan in Chesterton St for couple of years until we were moved to a new flat in Halewood .I'm sorry i havn't any photos of the street then as i don't think i knew anybody with a camera, but we were the first in the street with a telly.best regards John

Hi John
Am I right in thinking no 12 was a mid terrace house , two up two down? were there just houses on Thomas Street or were there any shops or pubs?
I have 4 addresses for my Grandfather 3 in Garston and 1 in Nottingham but all the houses have been demolished but Iam sure someone must have some photos somewhere.
Regards Paul
